Falai Panetteria

It is worth leaving your apartment a bit early one morning for a coffee and croissants at Falai Panetteria. The cafe, on Clinton Street one block north of Delancey, is a sister business of the popular Falai Restaurant just up the street, and offers the same pastries that have given founder Iacopo Falai such critical acclaim.

There are many breads and coffees to choose from, but so far I have been unable to turn my attention away from their fine basic coffee, their excellent (though small) croissants, and their exquisite apple turnovers. Their desserts look spectacular, and I hope to one day review these as well.

Fali Panetteria is clean, bright, and open, and afforts a great place for people-watching on the trendier side of the tracks.
